Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 24, 2026
Vivekananda Voice is a volunteer-built app and website designed to make teachings from the Ramakrishna-Vedanta tradition easier to listen to, study, and revisit across iOS, Android, and the web.
This page explains, in plain language, what information the app may handle and how it is used.
Accounts and Sync
You can browse, read, and listen to everything without an account. Signing in is optional, and exists only so your place in the texts follows you between devices.
If you do sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google and store them with an account identifier. While signed in, the app syncs your reading positions, listening progress, favourite chapters, highlights, and bookmarks so they are available on your other devices. This information is sent over an encrypted connection and is never sold or used for advertising.
You can delete your account and everything synced with it at any time — see Delete Your Account.
Information We Use
The app and website may handle limited technical information needed to function, such as:
- app settings such as theme, playback preferences, and reading position
- downloaded lectures or PDFs stored locally on your device for offline use
- basic diagnostics, crash, or analytics information if enabled in the app build
- requests to external media, RSS, image, and PDF hosting services when content is loaded
How Information Is Used
- to stream or download lectures, books, and images
- to remember playback state, reading position, favorites, and local preferences
- to improve reliability, fix problems, and maintain the app and website
Vivekananda Voice is intended to be a focused, ad-free experience. We do not sell personal information.
Third-Party Services and Links
Vivekananda Voice may load or link to third-party services, including podcast feeds, image hosting, PDF hosting, donation pages, and app distribution platforms.
When you open those external resources, their own privacy policies and terms may apply.
Downloads and Local Storage
Lectures and books that you choose to download may be stored locally on your device so they remain available offline.
Reading position, playback position, and similar convenience features may also be stored locally on your device.
Children’s Privacy
Vivekananda Voice is a general audience app and is not directed specifically to children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time as the app and website evolve. Updates will be posted on this page.
